新甲基橙皮苷二氫查耳酮在飼料中更有着廣氾的用途。作為甜味劑加入到飼料中可使飼料味超甜,能增大崽豬食慾,明顯促進其生長和降低每千克增重的飼料消耗,新甲基橙皮苷二氫查耳酮與別的甜味劑復配使用時,尤其與糖精復配時,能產生優良的協同作用。Daly等發現NHDC具有益生元般的作用,將NHDC添加到仔豬飼料中,隨着腸腔內乳酸濃度的增加,豬崽盲腸入口的乳酸桿菌也發生顯著增加,可影響共生的腸道菌群,調節其機體的免疫力,減少腸道疾病。
動物日糧中添加該種復配甜味料產品,能夠大大改善飼料的風味和適口性,掩蓋和改善了日糧中某些成分(如某些蛋白原料,維生素,金屬離子以及一些藥物成分等)帶有的不良苦澀味,從而增進幼畜的食慾,促進它們的生長
