Taste and Attribution: flat; sweet; to the spleen, lung, kidney meridian
Functions and Indications: Tonifying Qi, nourishing Yin, strengthening the spleen, moistening the lung and benefiting the kidney. Used for weakness of spleen and stomach, tiredness and fatigue, dry mouth and little food, dry cough in lung, deficiency of essence and blood, internal heat and thirst.
Usage and dosage: For internal use: decoction, 10-15g (30-60g fresh); or boiled in paste; or in pills and powder. For external use: appropriate amount. Decoction of soup, boiled ointment, or wine application.
Contraindications: Not to be taken by those with cold diarrhea and phlegm-dampness fullness.
