绞股蓝提取物是从绞股蓝这种植物中分离出50余种绞股蓝皂甙,和人参皂甙一样,同属于四环三萜类玛皂甙。中医学认为,绞股蓝味苦、性寒,具清热解毒、补气、止咳、祛痰之功能。
从绞股蓝中分离出50余种绞股蓝皂甙,和人参皂甙一样,同属于四环三萜类玛皂甙,其中绞股蓝皂甙Ⅲ、Ⅳ、Ⅶ、Ⅻ分别和人参皂甙Rb1、Rb3、Rd、F2是同一物质,绞股蓝皂甙元V-AH与人参皂甙Rg3相同,绞股蓝皂甙I经过酶分解得人参皂甙K。药理和临床分解得人参皂甙K。

来源:葫芦科植物,绞股蓝Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.)Makino的干燥全草。绞股蓝别名七叶胆、小芍药云、罗锅底、遍地生根等。葫芦科绞股蓝属多年生草质藤本植物。鸟趾状复叶互生,卷须生于叶腋,小叶常5~7。花单性,,雌雄异株;花萼及花冠裂片5;雄花组成圆椎花序,花序轴纤细,多分枝,花丝短,联合成柱,花药着生于顶端;雌花为圆锥花序,较雄花序短小;子房下位,球形,2~3室,花柱3枚,短而叉开,柱头2裂,浆果。
资源分布:全世界已知绞股蓝有13种。我国占11种,广泛分布天秦岭以南的广大省区。主要生长于海拔300-3200米的山谷密林、丘陵、山坡和石山地区的阴湿地带。
